Windermere Palm Springs agent Michael Paduano has thrown his hat into the ring for the upcoming Desert Water Agency election. Two of five Director seats are up for election on November 8, and Paduano is the sole challenger facing the two incumbents. The seat he hopes to win covers Palm Springs, the Cathedral City Cove, and part of Desert Hot Springs. “DWA Board members help set policy for the ratepayer. In these times of economic unrest, fiscally sound decisions are essential. There also needs to be an increased commitment toward water quality, conservation, and education,” says Paduano. “As a member of the Desert Water Agency Board of Directors, I will be a strong, supportive voice for the interests and concerns of the rate payer, and I look forward to being an active and contributing member of an already existing board.”
With 3 years at the state level of the California Association of Realtors (CAR), Paduano is already deeply involved with homeowner and real estate issues, as well as working to support local community services including Gilda’s Club Desert Cities, Greater Palm Springs Pride, and Safe House of the Desert. Paduano is especially proud about being accepted into the California Association of Realtors ‘Candidate Training Program,’ a 1-1/2 day intensive Sacramento training conference offered every two years by CAR to licensed real estate agents running for public office. “Realtors have a lot of responsibility to our clients, and to the communities in which we live and work,” Paduano believes.
Bob Deville, co-owner, Windermere Real Estate Southern California agrees. “Windermere is proud of its agents and the level of community involvement they are known for committing to. Michael exemplifies this willingness to dive in, to work hard, and to look ahead. We all benefit.”
