“I’m very honored to have been elected to this position of great responsibility, and to represent the desert community in our quest for full equality.”
“Andy has always been a strong advocate for HRC and continues to devote time and money to promote this growing movement,” says Bob Deville, co-owner, Windermere Southern California. “If not for volunteers like Andy, the advances through HRC would be nonexistent.”
Windermere Southern California Happily Supporting The Grape Festival
Windermere Real Estate Southern California and its agents are known for supporting their local communities with energy, time and financial contributions–as individuals, as the leading real estate company in the Coachella Valley, and through the Windermere Foundation, which contributes a percentage of every real estate sale toward local community services.
Agents from the Windermere Indio office, located at 81-703 Highway 111, for the second year in a row, enjoyed the opportunity of participating in the Grape Festival presented by The Sanctuary of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mecca and the church’s volunteer group, ‘Angeles de la Misericordia’ (Angels of Mercy). Windermere, a Gold Sponsor of the event, actively participated with agents staffing a booth at the Festival, helping raise funds to be utilized to assist and feed the homeless during the agricultural picking season. In addition to Windermere agents staffing the booth and collecting individual donations, the Windermere Foundation presented a $500 contribution to this important cause, helping to make a real difference in the lives of the recipients.
“There are many ways to support the communities here in which we live, work and play,” said Bob Deville, co-owner, Windermere Southern California. “Windermere and our agents derive immense personal satisfaction from contributing their time, effort and money to local community service projects and providers. The Sanctuary does important work here in the Coachella Valley, and we’re proud to be a part of it.”
Guests Celebrating the New Windermere Laguna Niguel Office
Wow, what a turnout!Windermere SoCal is thrilled with the warm welcome extended to its Laguna Niguel agents and staff by the people of Orange County. Windermere’s temporary location at 27611 La Paz Road has already become a vibrant and integral part of this exceptional community. Windermere Laguna Niguel agents and staff welcomed visitors with a grand celebration and tour of its future home at 27941 La Paz Road (currently under renovation and on track for a late summer dedication).
“We are just bowled over with the reception we’ve received with our Laguna Niguel, Laguna Beach, and Dana Point offices,” says Bob Deville, co-owner, Windermere SoCal. “Our clients have long appreciated the Windermere experience, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to now be able to offer it to real estate buyers and sellers in Orange County. With three new Windermere offices open in Laguna Niguel, Laguna Beach, and Dana Point, we now enjoy terrific networking opportunities for our other Southern California Windermere offices,” says Deville. “There has always existed strong crossover between Orange County and the desert, and now we are better able to fully service both areas while continuing to expand and serve the market.”

Each year, Windermere agents throughout the Western United States participate in a Windermere Community Service Day, an event where each office selects and supports a local project benefiting the community in which they live, work and play.
This year, Windermere Coachella Valley’s offices have designated Tuesday, July 26, as ‘Windermere’s Summer Cool Down.’ This very special Community Service Day event will provide new (in original packaging) electric fans…lots and lots of them, table-top, oscillating, floor stand, window and box fans…you name it, we’re bringing it. These fans will help our in-need neighbors stay cool and comfortable during this very warm time of year.
If you’d like to support this great community project, you can drop off new electric fans of all sizes and styles to any of the Windermere offices in the Coachella Valleyany time until July 25th. Receipts are available in each office for tax purposes.
Windermere’s grand opening of its great new Solana Beach office was a must-attend event for sure! In addition to the high level of buzz that accompanies every Windermere office opening, the standing room only crowd was treated to a performance by Glenn Erath, Real Estate Services Manager (and Official Jingle Creator) for Corky’s Pest Control. Watch here as Glenn performs his groundbreaking composition, ‘I Wanna Be A Windermere Agent’.
Collaborate with a Windermere agent, and you too can make beautiful music.
Jennie’s not the only golfer in the family! Bob and Jennie’s ‘wonder dog’, Riley Rose, is a golf ball retriever (she’s also an English Golden Retriever, but she doesn’t like to brag). She recently donated 5,000 golf balls to the First Tee Junior Program. And nobody hunts golf balls like Riley Rose…she hones in on wayward balls thought lost to mankind, carrying them gently back to the growing pile for contribution to worthy junior golf programs…so far, 8,000 and counting!
Bob Deville, Co-owner of Windermere Real Estate SoCal Cuts the Ribbon, and opens their doors to serve their La Mesa Community!
The new location is adjacent to both the La Mesa Springs Shopping Center and the La Mesa Village Farmers Market, and across the street from City Hall and the library.
Was it worth the wait? “Absolutely! Our agents and clients already love it,” said Jan Farley, Managing Broker for the new office. “Windermere’s agents provide the very best service to their clients, and that service includes providing convenient, modern and fully staffed and equipped locations. Our beautiful new office has all of that, and more.
Windermere ‘owned’ the 18th hole with a Platinum Sponsorship in the 2011 Annual Golf Tournament, the proceeds from which benefit the Palm Springs USO and the California Desert Association of Realtors Scholarship Fund. The Windermere Golf Team played as a GREAT scramble team does – everyone contributed great shots and great putts!
Windermere Agents spend a day of fun & laughter, teaming up on the golf course.
Ramon Godinez hit a fabulous shot out of the bunker to three feet. Allan Grushkin hit a long second shot onto the green from a difficult spot in the rough with a strong wind against him. Dean Wartelle smoked a couple of awesome drives near the finish. And a few of Carol Hochsprung’s fairway tee shots answered some of her partners’ errant hooks and slices, too.
There was lots of fun and laughs during the “birdie-full” afternoon of 18 holes, followed by a buffet dinner at the La Quinta Country Club. Huge thanks for the generosity of the many affiliates, sponsors, and volunteers for their talents and efforts. AND, props to the staff of CDAR for their continued good spirit and dedication to all of us hard-working people in the real estate industry!
Windermere Agents, Brokers & Staff show their patriotism in the La Mesa Flag Day Parade
Windermere Real Estate proudly participated in the city of La Mesa’s Flag Day Parade on Saturday, June 4. Agents and staff from Windermere’s La Mesa office were joined by fellow ‘Windermerians’ from other offices across Southern California, with their banner-festooned, hay-bale covered Windermere float ‘sailing’ along the parade route past cheering, patriotically dressed spectators.
Waving to the crowd, Windermere Agents, Managing Brokers and staff laughed and handed out balloons, fans, bottled water and flags. Windermere, which hosted an Open House on May 18 to dedicate its new La Mesa office at 8131 Allison Avenue, has clearly settled in to its great new La Mesa community, and its agents are already providing their legendary Windermere service to their clients.
Bob Thomas, riding to support people living with AIDS
Windermere’s Bob Thomas, from the Palm Springs Main office, is currently pedaling 545 miles from San Francisco to Los Angeles. The AIDS LifeCycle 10th Anniversary ‘Ride to End AIDS’ is taking place from June 5-June 11…but the preparation for these participants has been going on for months and even years.
Bob’s been extending his riding exercises with fanatic dedication. Over the weekend of May 21, he saw two tough rides totaling 140 miles, with plenty of hills and lots of wind. Throw high temps into the mix, and it’s a tough go for sure!
But Bob is up to it, and he’s surpassed his $10,000 fundraising goal, enough to provide critical medications for a person with AIDS for about six months!!
“In the early years of the epidemic I lost a lot of close friends – almost more than I can count,” says Bob. “I am riding not only to pay tribute to those lost but also to those living today with HIV in the hope that their lives can be made just a little bit better because of the medical science and care that the ride helps support.”
If you’d like to support Bob with his ride, you can donate directly to AIDS LifeCycle by clicking here.
Suzanne Armstrong, Evelyn Armstrong, Espe Mendoza & Alexia Rae Mendoza Modeling in Support of SIPS
Esperanza Mendoza, an agent at Windermere’s Indio office (81-703 Highway 111) displayed her impeccable fashion sense at Leon’s at the Canyon Golf Resort in Palm Springs. Esperanza and her two daughters, Alexia and Aubri, modeled for the Victorian Tea, a popular annual event presented by Soroptimist.
Just what is Soroptimist? It’s an international non-profit organization for business and professional women, whose mission is to improve the lives of women and girls in our local communities and throughout the world. And for the last four years, Soroptimist International of Palm Springs (SIPS) has hosted a Victorian Tea on the day before Mother’s Day. SIPS raises money which benefits The House of Hope, Women’s Opportunity Awards, Saturday of Service, various scholarships, and much more.
This year’s Victorian Tea included a fashion show featuring some of the trendiest threads from two Palm Springs boutiques…Revenge and Ooh La La, both of which donated a percentage of their sales during the event to SIPS. Funds were also raised through ticket sales, a raffle, a live auction (with auctioneer Patrick Evans of Channel 2 News), and a number of popular desert vendor boutiques.
Esperanza is not only a great Windermere Realtor®, she’s very hip, cool, and with it when it comes to strutting her style stuff for a great cause.
“Involvement in our local communities is what our Windermere agents excel at,” says Bob Deville, co-owner, Windermere Real Estate Southern California. “We are proud of our commitment to giving back to the communities we serve.”
Jim Hladysh WITH hair. Did he meet his goal and shave his head???? Stay tuned to find out!!
Jim Hladysh is participating in the 10th Anniversary AIDS LIFECYCLE, helping to make a world of difference in the lives of people living with HIV and AIDS. The biking event is June 5th – June 11th.
To raise funds for this event, Jim held a fundraiser at Rubio’s in Palm Springs and had a garage sale powered by the generosity of a family selling its vacation home and donating all the furnishings to benefit Jim’s cause. The garage sale raised $2300, and the success of that event spurred a follow-up garage sale on May 28! Jim’s goal was to raise at least $10,000 in time for the ride!
NewsFlash!!!! Jim threw down a challenge: If he got at least 15 on-line donations of $10 or more by his June 1st deadline, he will shave his head for the Ride and post the shaving pics on his Facebook (shhhhh…don’t tell Jim, but we’ll post ‘em here, too!)
Great job, Jim, and congratulations! Can’t wait to cheer you across the finish line!
Windermere Agents Wishing The City of La Quinta a Happy Birthday!!!!
On Saturday, April 30, Windermere’s La Quinta and Old Town La Quinta agents helped their home town celebrate its 29 years as a city with a Community Picnic and Birthday Bash which packed Fritz Burns Park with over 1000 happy revelers. Windermere was one of just 60 vendors participating in the fun, which included games and children’s activities, food, and gift giveaways. “We are proud to be a part of the many La Quinta events our city hosts,” said Sandy Beakey, Managing Broker, Windermere La Quinta and Old Town La Quinta offices. “It’s a joy to be able to give back to the community we work, live and play in.”
One of the great things about the Coachella Valley is the sense of community each city fosters with great local events like this, and Windermere agents are always right in the middle of it! Happy Birthday, La Quinta! You’re not getting older…you’re getting better!
Families and Windermere Agents enjoying the Easter festivities!!
But wait! There’s MORE! Our own George Baca, Managing Broker of the Windermere Indio office, prompts you to don your Easter bonnet (or Easter bowler, if you’re not into frilly hats), grab your Easter basket and scamper off to one of the two fabulous Easter Egg Hunts being co-sponsored by Windermere Real Estate and the Desert Recreation District. Yep, that’s right…take your pick: Both Indio’s Community Center Park (46th and Clinton) and Veterans Park in Coachella (4th Street between Orchard and Vine) will be filled with the sound of happy, giggling children and startled birds and squirrels as kids wander the terrain looking for the stuff of next week’s egg salad sandwiches.
And (hold onto your bonnets and bowlers!) the Easter Bunny is making an appearance at BOTH of these spectacular events as well! If I didn’t know better, I’d think maybe he’s using a double for some of this stuff now that he’s a big movie star. But I digress…
The Hunts in both locations are scheduled from 10am to Noon, and both Hunts are FREE. Events are scheduled for groups 3-10 years of age, and 11-15 years of age.
We used all the egg jokes in the first post, so you’re safe… omletting you off easy.
