Families and Windermere Agents enjoying the Easter festivities!!
But wait! There’s MORE! Our own George Baca, Managing Broker of the Windermere Indio office, prompts you to don your Easter bonnet (or Easter bowler, if you’re not into frilly hats), grab your Easter basket and scamper off to one of the two fabulous Easter Egg Hunts being co-sponsored by Windermere Real Estate and the Desert Recreation District. Yep, that’s right…take your pick: Both Indio’s Community Center Park (46th and Clinton) and Veterans Park in Coachella (4th Street between Orchard and Vine) will be filled with the sound of happy, giggling children and startled birds and squirrels as kids wander the terrain looking for the stuff of next week’s egg salad sandwiches.
And (hold onto your bonnets and bowlers!) the Easter Bunny is making an appearance at BOTH of these spectacular events as well! If I didn’t know better, I’d think maybe he’s using a double for some of this stuff now that he’s a big movie star. But I digress…
The Hunts in both locations are scheduled from 10am to Noon, and both Hunts are FREE. Events are scheduled for groups 3-10 years of age, and 11-15 years of age.
We used all the egg jokes in the first post, so you’re safe… omletting you off easy.

Kids enjoying the outdoors for the Easter Holiday!
Easter Egg Hunts are a colorful annual tradition for the City of La Quinta. Managing Broker Sandy Beakey of Windermere’s La Quinta and La Quinta Old Town offices tells us that on Saturday, April 23, Windermere Real Estate, in collaboration with La Quinta Community Services and the Boys and Girls Club of Coachella Valley, will be happily hiding 8,000 Easter eggs for kids up to 10 years old (the kids, not the eggs). Goodies, toys and surprises will be scattered around the park, with prizes to include big Easter bunnies, and more. Johnny Atkinson, morning news anchor/producer for KMIR Channel 6, and Ginger Jeffries, of KESQ Channel 3 News, will be Windermere’s celebrity judges for the Chalk Drawing Contest immediately following the hunt.
And if that’s not enough to egg you on, also scheduled to make an official appearance is that big lovable fur-covered character recognized by millions of kids as the bringer of fun and goodies each year…Santa Claus!

Hah! The yolk’s on you…It’s the Easter Bunny, of course! Yep, kids will get to meet the one and only genuine Easter Bunny…who’da thought the big fella would have time available in his busy schedule the Saturday morning right before Easter? Well, consider this: The Easter Bunny is only around for photo ops. It’s really the chickens who do all the work.
The festivities begin at 9:00 am at La Quinta Park (across from La Quinta High School).
Get there early. You don’t want to have to scramble.

Windermere Agents LOVE the business of Real Estate. They love helping their clients buy and sell property, and they get that great feeling from providing awesome customer service. You know it’s true, because our clients keep coming back for more of that fabulous Windermere Experience.
Now Windermere Chino Hills agents have come up with yet another way to have fun helping their clients buy and sell homes: MARCH MADNESS! Splitting their great agents into two groups, the Blue Team and the White Team, the (friendly) battle began…and at the end of the day, the Blue Team won…so THEY got STEAK. The White Team got barbecue too…hot dogs…AND…they had to serve the Blue Team. But don’t feel too sorry for them…check out the photo. Looks like they ALL had a great time. And serving it up over a hot grill? One of the best chefs in town…Rich King himself, owner of Windermere Chino Hills’ King Realty Group. Says Rich: “We all enjoy a friendly contest among the group to promote camaraderie and share knowledge. We’re adding inventory as we head into our spring/summer selling months. As the agents participate in group prospecting activities with their team mates, they discover even more ways to build their listings, which ultimately serves the clients with more great inventory to choose from.” He adds, “And it’s FUN!”

Bob Thomas, Windermere agent at the Palm Springs Main office, is training tirelessly for a cause he believes in: next month’s AIDS/LifeCycle 10, marking the thirtieth year of the AIDS pandemic.

Here’s how it works: Bob does all the work…and we contribute to the cause…helping to fund treatment for those impacted by HIV/AIDS, and supporting prevention efforts for at-risk populations.
Originally hoping to raise a respectable $3,000 with his efforts, he keeps raising his own bar. He’s already soared past $7000.
He is going to complete a 545-mile bicycle ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles…in seven days. So Bob trains every chance he gets. 40-mile rides. 50-mile rides. 60-mile rides. In the desert. In the mountains. He’s one of just six Palm Springs riders in the top fifty Southern California fundraisers, and Bob is already a champion. Windermere Laguna Niguel Office Opens
When we opened our new Windermere office in Laguna Niguel, we knew the news would spread like wildfire. But we didn’t really anticipate the extent of the excitement that would be generated…even the Laguna Niguel Fire Department put in an appearance!
OK, so their participation wasn’t exactly a planned part of the celebration…they were actually doing what firefighters do…responding to a fire call. Yep, it’s true. When we turned on the heating system for the first time, smoke billowed through the ceiling. Now Windermere agents are known for getting the job done, but they also know when to step out of the way. Flames averted; festivities resumed. The grand opening drama ended on a high note, with a hearty thank-you to a great bunch of firefighers…and even more excitement than we had planned for.
And from the It’s-A-Small-World department: Turns out one of the responding firefighters is the son of our very own Sandi Richardson, Managing Broker of the Windermere Palm Desert Cook/Hovley office. I know…cool, huh?

Windermere Rancho Mirage Celebrate!
Windermere’s Rancho Mirage office agents and administrative staff got together on the rooftop patio for snacks and conversation (okay, it was a PARTY) to celebrate their hard work.
Last year, Diana Weiss, the office’s Managing Broker, had promised a party when the office attained close to 50% market share of ALL closed sales in Rancho Mirage. Well, that’s exactly what happened in January…so bring on the confetti and streamers! And food…oh gosh, the FOOD! Who knew…in addition to being an awesome Transaction Coordinator, Cathy Potter is an executive chef…and who knew that Chris Pierson, our own jack-of-all-trades, is a student of the culinary sciences?…and who knew that Chris’s gorgeous fiancé, Aja, could put together such tantalizing baked desserts? Windermere co-owners Bob Bennion and Bob Deville joined in and took the occasion to express their gratitude for the hard work. After all, what a wonderful accomplishment!

Buchanan brings to Windermere a broad palette of abilities and experience, with degrees in Police Science, Arts, and a Sociology minor. He maintains his Lifetime Secondary Teaching Credential earned from Long Beach. Those credentials continue to be put to good use: The skills Buchanan employed in teaching high school Industrial Arts–as well as coaching football and track and field–are used to equal benefit doing what he still loves best: agent development one-on-one coaching.
A Broker for 25 of his 35 years in Real Estate, he initially was attracted to the industry by the potential to build a successful career based upon self-reliance and people management skills. When asked what his agents appreciate most about him, Buchanan replies, “My personal service. My agents are my ‘customers’, just as their ‘customers’ are their clients. The message is the same,” he continues. “Ethics, Honesty, and Integrity. As long as we adhere to these values, the client is properly served.”
In his spare time, Buchanan unwinds by working on classic cars. “Street rods, jet skis, and motorcycles,” he says. “Anything with a motor!” And that makes perfect sense: Buchanan, a classic in his own right, loves helping things run well.
