Windermere's New Caravan Bus

Windermere's New Caravan Bus

Windermere Real Estate has taken delivery of its shiny new 2011 Windermere Caravan Bus.

Windermere has long had its own dedicated van and full-time driver for carrying agents to regularly preview new Windermere listings. Now, with ample seating for 33, the NEW Windermere bus is loaded with state-of-the-art features, including full-time rear camera, GPS for optimum route mapping, and wireless internet access to enable agents to conduct real estate business on the road.  Coachella Valley residents, used to seeing the familiar blue Windermere bus around town, will be doing double-takes when they spot the custom 35′ vehicle making its rounds each week. Strikingly handsome in its sky-blue wrap and eye-catching graphics, it has already begun to criss-cross the Valley with its team of dedicated Windermere agents.

Agents appreciate being able to concentrate on the new listings and network with one another on current real estate trends as they visit each week’s newest offerings. The ability to come together and collectively walk through these fresh-on-the-market homes provides the agents with a valuable tool for marketing the properties and matching the right home to the right buyer. Transporting the agents in style provides a valuable service to the agents and their clients, saving the agents time and energy, as well as being environmentally conscientious. The engine, part of the latest generation of diesel engineering, makes use of new technology which meets the EPA’s near-zero nitrogen emission levels. With its increased seating capacity, the new Windermere bus takes more agents on their rounds while at the same time reducing the number of individual agent vehicles on the road.

Windermere prides itself on offering the finest cutting edge tools and support to its agents. In doing so, it allows them to excel at helping their clients buy and sell homes. “We understand that Windermere is the real estate leader in the Coachella Valley because of its agents,” says Bob Deville, Windermere Coachella Valley owner. “By giving them the tools to do what they do best, we ensure that our clients get what they come to us for: outstanding customer service. Where the rubber meets the road, Windermere agents are there.”

On Wednesday, November 17, 2010, Windermere Real Estate proudly presented a $5,000 Windermere Foundation contribution to The Family YMCA of the Desert.  This YMCA located at 43930 San Pablo Avenue in Palm Desert  is the desert’s sole location since the ‘Y’ on E. Mesquite in Palm Springs closed.

Windermere Real Estate Coachella Valley has a long history of supporting the YMCA, with company-wide events dedicated to restoring and updating of the facility.  “The YMCA organization has a long history of serving the youth in this country, and Windermere agents love being able to support this great organization,” says Bob Deville, Windermere Coachella Valley owner. “Families now more than ever rely upon the services made available by community organizations like the YMCA. This is one of the ways Windermere is able to give back.”

With every Windermere real estate transaction, a portion of the commission goes to the Windermere Foundation, a non-profit organization established in 1989. Contributions from Windermere agents, combined with contributions from Windermere employees and public supporters, have allowed the Windermere Foundation to distribute over two million dollars annually in recent years to non-profit agencies dedicated to helping homeless and low-income families. Non-profits receiving Windermere Foundation dollars furnish emergency and transitional housing, help to subsidize costs for health care, employment counseling, placement and training, day care, scholarships, and much more.

For the second year, Windermere Real Estate was the presenting sponsor for the Casual Concours Palm Springs Benefit Classic Car Show held on Saturday, October 30, 2010.

Windermere, known for its dedicated involvement with community events and services, was happy to again have the opportunity to back this popular event.  Windermere agents also staffed a booth, welcoming visitors to request information about Coachella Valley real estate services and properties.

Great Autos of Yesteryear Car Club boasts over 1100 members and 3600 cars, with more than a quarter of its members residing in the Coachella Valley area. For over 25 years, the club has rotated locations for its annual show among various Southern California venues; last year’s Palm Springs event attracted spectators in unprecedented numbers and was so successful that its organizers chose to return to Indian Canyons Golf Resort South Course at 1097 East Murray Canyon, Palm Springs.

The event  featured over 150 classic, exotic and special interest automobiles from decades of automotive history. Proceeds from this popular event will benefit several community service organizations: Desert Outreach Foundation, Golden Rainbow Center/SAGE, and Desert AIDS Project.

Windermere agents are well-known for their contributions of time and effort to local charities and community programs, and they jumped feet first into Windermere’s most anticipated annual Community Service event.

Each year in October, the act of sharing and supporting those experiencing tough times in the Coachella Valley is focused upon one very special event for all 16 Windermere Coachella Valley offices: Windermere Community Service Day. This year’s theme was ‘Winter Wear Roundup.’ Agents and offices spent weeks planning for the 2010 event.

This year agents collected and donated usable clothing to some of the Valley’s homeless. Windermere worked hand-in-glove with two highly respected community service charities – Coachella Valley Rescue Mission (CVRM) of Indio, and Roy’s Desert Resource Center (RDRC) of Palm Springs – in offering support to those who will face true hardship this winter. Both Roy’s Desert Resource Center and Coachella Valley Rescue Mission work year-round to offer resources, shelter and clothing to help get clients back on their feet; for many, this support offers a critical opportunity to regain control of their lives.

CVRM figures show that children and families make up the fastest growing segment of the homeless population; the average homeless child in this country is 6 years old. RDRC notes their clients require a broad range of services in order to return to self-sufficiency and regain independence and financial security; among those services is one of the most basic: clothing. Windermere agents delivered boxes of hats, scarves, coats and blankets to both locations on Friday, October 29.

Windermere is proud of its agents for their support of Roy’s Desert Resource Center and Coachella Valley Rescue Mission, as well as many other community aid organizations throughout the Coachella Valley.
