Judy Columbus
REALTOR
Associate Broker
Since retiring, I have asked and answered these questions and more: Should we purchase a second home? What location makes most sense for us? How much will be miss seeing our grandchildren every day? Should we buy in a golf community even though we don`t play golf? Own a large home, when many our age scale down? Because I believe that there is a window of opportunity when each of us can exercise such options, I feel privileged to work with home buyers and sellers making these exciting decisions.
Since licensed as a salesperson in Los Angeles in 1964, I Founded, operated for 22 years, then sold Judy Columbus inc. Real Estate and Relocation in Rochester, NY; co-founded, then sold Home Town Funding inc. Mortgage Brokers; received Small Business Awards from N.Y. Governors Cuomo and Pataki; served as Chair of Rochester`s Realtors® Charitable Foundation which raised $280,000 in five years for critical community housing needs; chaired the Jewish Film Festival; was guest speaker for dozens of venues on topics including: “Entrepreneurship:” “Women Making Choices,” and “Effective Marketing;" served on the Board of Directors, Rochester NY`s Golisano Children`s Hospital; in 2006 launched Judy`s Broker Network to link home buyers with brokers coast-to-coast.
Coming Full Circle . . .
My retirement did not "take," and I now return to the marketing and sale of residential real estate. After visiting the Coachella Valley annually for 20 years, my husband and I purchased a home in Palm Desert, and I have associated with Windermere, a company I chose because of its reputation for the professionalism of its management, and the service and success of its agents. I look forward to meeting and helping those who contemplate life changes, for in the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson: “Not in his goals, but in his transitions, man is great.”
